365 Day Resolution

At the end of last year, I decided to sign up for a weekly photography challenge. I always have so many ideas and ambitions but life usually gets in the way and there are only so many hours in a day, but I decided I was going to do this and it was my resolution to stick to it.

I don't know exactly what I was thinking because that just wasn't enough. At the last minute I decided to sign myself up for a daily challenge as well! This lasts all year and every morning we are given a word of the day. I find out the word in the morning, think about what I’d like to capture, and then try to get what is in my head to show up in the camera.

I'm not shooting any images with anyone else in mind but myself. Sometimes I take several pictures of different ideas and end up posting the one that is not as technically perfect, but it's the one that speaks to me so it's the one that gets posted. I find the themes that initially stress me out the most end up being the ones I like the best (The example to date for this is "potato"). Feel free to follow me on my journey on Instagram @annettesentell. It just started on January 1 so there are still plenty of daily challenges left to see!

This journey has nothing to do with my business or with portraits of people. It's just a fun way to expand my creativeness and stay committed to something I said I wanted to do.

Did you make any resolutions this year? Have you been able to stick to them?

I’d love to hear about your commitments, even if you fell off the wagon already. Why did you make these resolutions to begin with….is it for you? Or for someone else?
